U12's learn from first match of day to defeat Nottingham.

In the second game of the day, Ilkeston changed Smith for Billingham and Pearson for Matt Marriott. Also ringing the changes in the backs with Skinner replacing Marzano and Westrick replacing Taylor at scrum half. Nottingham also made a number of changes.

Ilkeston had dominance in the scrum from the off with Brooks continuing his excellent form in the first game. Westrick used this platform to great effect. feeding Elder who is growing in confidence and maturity and marshalled his troops well from fly half. Early in the first half Davidson showed real pace surging from the centre to carve through for the score, which he himself converted.

Nottingham were determined to get back into the game and did so, a series of rucks creating space for the outside centre to score. This Ilkeston side are truly resilient however and Davidson set off on one of his trademark barnstorming runs to drive over the line with a number of Nottingham defenders trailing in his wake - converted by Westrick.

The second half saw Taylor return at full back and Marzano to the centre replacing Davidson. From the re-start Taylor took the ball deep in his own half and showed the entire Nottingham defence a clean pair of heels to race down the touchline and score - converted by Westrick.

The game then played out with good interplay from both sides resulting in the final score of Ilkeston U12's 21 - Nottingham U12's 7
