Wet, cold, dark and slightly depresssing, but that's enough about the weather, the rugby was electric!

Unbeaten for Dave's Stags team and a good effort also from Woodie and Ians Bulls team was a very encouraging outcome. They should all be really proud, as the feedback is they all played so well for their 1st official festival, really raising their game and all really enjoying their rugby.

All the coaches were very impressed at how mature they all behaved in between matches, keeping themselves warm and occupied, waiting for their turn to play. They showed great concentration, on what was a long day, listening to what the coaches were telling them and trying to put this into practice on the pitch. What was particularly clear is that we do have a group of kids with excellent handling skills, with everyone showing good confidence on the ball.

Cameron Buckley got player of the week, he was continually getting involved and was always there supporting his teammates every time play broke down. His running with the ball was superb and was a good advert for running straight!

Defensively, Henry Barker-Pine was commended for his consist ant and dogged tagging. It is always important to remember that defensive play is as essential as attacking.

For the players that missed out this time, there will be a further 2 festivals this year that we will attend and all players that couldn't play in the Derby Festival will be treated preferentially.
(Note: we need 1 or 2 parents to make a few more detailed notes during fixtures from now on, so we can post these on the website etc, will talk about it on Sunday. Nothing too back page of the newspaper, just score, play highlights, notable performance etc)
