HEAD COACH FOR ILKESTON RUFC COLTS SECTION REQUIRED

Coach wanted for our talented colts section, approx 40 players with great potential

The right coach will focus on inclusive rugby and developing all players through to playing senior rugby. Ilkeston RUFC have an aspiration to create a “Centre of Excellence for Coaching” within the Colts section to support the development of our existing colts coaches and those within the Youth section.

We aspire to have a one club approach and see the colts and seniors as the sections all youth teams will aspire to. We expect the colts to be role models for our youth players and striving to exhibit TREDS in everything they do.

This role will support the philosophy at Ilkeston which is centred around enjoyment and inclusivity. We believe that teams that are inclusive and enjoyable to play in will achieve great things on and off the pitch.

The Colts Head Coach will be responsible for coaching approximately 40 players playing in NLD fixtures They will work alongside the Club Head Coach and Director of Rugby to ensure continuity and consistency in approach as well providing a positive pathway into senior rugby.

KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Deliver two training sessions per week. (Tuesday & Thursday Night)
- Managing a match day per week (usually but not exclusively Friday night or Saturday pm)
- Planning and progressing for training sessions as well as matches.
- Understand and align relevant coaching methodology with senior coaching group’s tactical and technical principles.
- Build positive relationships with all players and their parents and carers
- Begin to build relationships with key stakeholders in feeder schools and Colleges.
- Develop (in conjunction with Seniors Head Coach) and deliver an inclusive, competitive 2-year player development program for young players who wish to transition into senior rugby at Ilkeston.
- Deliver and attend coach development sessions as required.
- To produce, in conjunction with the whole coaching group training plans tailored to progress the groups skillset
- Be a link between Leicester Tigers DPP & Academy programmes plus NLD representative rugby to aide players in their ambitions.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIANCE:
-RFU coaching award Level 2 or equivalent/aspiring to advance
-Experience of developing teenage rugby players
-Regular attendee of England rugby CPD courses
-Excellent communication skills
-Ability to develop new and experienced players equally

COMMITMENT:
-Two training sessions a week
-One match per week
-Relevant preparation & planning.
