Training off 24th March We also don't train Easter Sunday Plus other news

Sunday 24th March
Unsurprisingly, all training U6s & U7s is off this week due to the bad weather. Ilkeston has had a lot of snow (hard to believe bearing in mind it's sub tropical micro climate that you have all sampled on Sundays) compared to the surrounding areas and even if this clears in time, the pitches will be completely waterlogged.

A little word on training Last Week

Many thanks to Paul for organising such a productive session. Wow, didn't we have a lot of little people running around! It was good to see them enjoy themselves on such a cold, wet day and at this stage of the season, it's also nice to see them putting into practice the skills we have mercilessly drilled into them all year. Makes a coaches day to see them do the basics so well.
A big well done to Fergus (U7s) and Spencer (U6s, well U5s actually) who were the respective players of the week. Both players showed excellent running and evasion skills and with Spencer being so young and Fergus only starting the last couple of weeks this was superb to see. We have always had these trophies, which we have used for Man of the Match, however as we don't always play a match every week, really we should have used them as Player of the Week before now. From now on we shall use them weekly to highlight an outstanding personal achievement or contribution by player. Please make sure that they are returned the next time we train.
Thanks to all parents for wrapping their kids up appropriately, they can always take a layer off if they get too hot, but we cant always get them warm if they get too cold. (Note to coaches, if we could set an example by making sure our children our suitably attired, that would be just grand)(Note to Dave, yes you)

Sunday 31st March
We (U6s & U7s) do not train on Easter Sunday weekend so please remember to have a lie in. Well a lie in, minus the hour, as the clocks for forward!!!
