Ilkeston's Colts travelled the short distance to Long Eaton for a festival of Rugby with Melbourne, Chesterfield and hosts Long Eaton on Sunday.
30 minute games were played and the first fixture against Chesterfield saw the Elks return a 10 - 5 win, with tries for Jimmy Knowles and Dom Keetley.
The second game against Melbourne ended as a 10 - 10 draw; try scorers were CJ Woodason and James Hamilton.
The final game against hosts Long Eaton witnessed the Elks play their best rugby scoring five great tries in a 25 - 0 victory. Slick handling resulted in tries for CJ Woodason, Jimmy Knowles, Dom Keetley, Callum Murden and Cameron Woodason.
The squad of 22 all got good game time and there were promising signs that the pre-season work put in by the coaching team is already paying off.
The U17's kick off their NLD campaign this coming Sunday with the visit of Mellish whilst the U19's face Paviors in the National Cup on Sunday 16th September.
